Professional Runner & National Recordholder
In 2024, Jacob Simonsen broke a 40-year-old Danish marathon record. Then he did the same in the 10K. And again in the half marathon.
Now, he’s setting his sights on the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

What's up?
I’m really excited about my next big target, the Half Marathon World Championships in Copenhagen this September. Until then, I’ve got a bunch of smaller races lined up, which should make the journey there both fun and competitive.

What makes you an athlete?
Years of training, but also the priorities I make every day. The structure, the discipline, and all the small decisions that add up over time.

What's your most recent fascination?
Definitely road biking and coffee stops. There’s not much better than a long ride followed by a good coffee and some electrolytes.
What’s the last good thing you bought for yourself?
A coffee stop, haha. But the next thing I’ll probably treat myself to is a sauna.
Lastly, who should we follow and why?
@heapsgoodrunners, for the banter. Always good for a laugh and some quality running content.
