Malene Degn is more than a Danish mountain biker. She’s a powerhouse on two wheels. Her love for the sport ignited at just nine years old, setting her on a path that led to World Cup podiums, European and World Championship medals, and representing Denmark at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

A three-time Danish champion across mountain biking and cyclocross, Malene has claimed 15 World Cup podiums and 7 World and European Championship medals, including 2 golds. She knows what it takes to push limits and chase big results.

Besides being a skilled athlete, Malene is a great ambassador for cycling and adventure. She shares her experiences and inspires others to be part of the cycling world.

The most spontaneous thing I’ve done…

I went to the airport and bought a ticket to Italy. One hour later, I was on a plane, flying down for a first date—watching the sunset over the Mediterranean that same evening. A truly spontaneous date decision!

What I wish more people knew...

That things don’t have to be so rigid. I don’t like the words ‘should’ and ‘must.’ We are only here once, and in my perspective, we should live as we want, not as we think we ‘should.’

A recent thought I had in the shower...

The song Country Roads. I need to sing my own version of it at a friend’s wedding soon. My only problem is that I can’t sing... but it’s made with love.
